Commemorating 100 years since the adoption of the Geneva Declaration on Children's Rights by the League of Nations (in 1924), experts and children's rights organisations from around the world have signed an updated Geneva Declaration on 20.11.2024, recalling the obligations of all governments, public bodies and non-governmental organisations to respect and protect children's rights. The Geneva Declaration of 1924 was not a legally binding document, but it paved the way for the  adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20.11.1989, which has been ratified by 196 of the 197 states up to now and has become a law in Greece (Law 2101/92). The Initiative for Article 12 (InArt.12 - PROTA.12) is among the organisations that signed the 2024 Geneva Declaration.
