27 girls and boys born between 2001 and 2006 participated the first consultation workshop titled "Zoom in on Children’s Rights" organized by InArt12 in Athens on 18.11.2018. The workshop took place in the framework of the GlobalChild project, which operates under the auspices of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. The children gathered from different parts of Athens with the cooperation of public bodies, 5 non-governmental organisations and 6 schools. They exchanged experiences, views and suggestions about the implementation of the UNCRC general principles (as enshrined in Articles 2,3,6 and 12). Participants confirmed emphatically the universal request of children for their opinion to be heard on issues affecting them, their rights to be protected and adults to respect them and act as good examples for them.
InArt12 warmly thanks all children who participated in the workshop, the facilitators, members of staff and management of the collaborating agencies (Center for Social Welfare of Attica, SOS Children’s Villages, ARSIS, SCHEDIA, ActionAid, Network for Children’s Rights), the teachers who helped the recruitment of school students and the experts who voluntarily supported the event, as well as ARSIS who offered the workshop venue.
