InArt12 was present in the Conference of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 13 and 14 November 2019, marking the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. George Moschos, founding member, and Rania Douvou, representing the community of young advisers of InArt12, participated in the Conference and made presentations in the workshop "The power of children: shaping or shaking up political agendas for a new generation of activists".
The title of the conference was "Redefining power: Strengthening the Rights of the Child as a key to a future-proof Europe".
Representatives of governments, independent authorities, intergovernmental and non governmental organisations, experts and children participated in it. Various issues were discussed, including current challenges in defending children's rights, activism as an expression of the right of children to participate in decision making, children in the media, fighting children's social exclusion, protecting the rights of children on the move, coping with violence and in particular sexual violence, juvenile justice, children in family court proceedings, protection from cyber crimes etc.
